1. Use Incognito Mode on Google Chrome
Tech companies use our data to up-charge our tickets. Many people don’t know this, but companies keep track of prices you’re willing to pay for a ticket and they set the ticket prices to that price. That means that the person sitting next to you on the flight might have paid less than you did.
2. Use search engines such as:
kayak(https://www.kayak.com), google flights, skyscanner (https://www.skyscanner.com) they are in the business of making sure you receive the cheapest flight possible. Make sure your searching on incognito mode as well to maximize the likelihood of receiving the cheapest flights
3. Book 45-90 days before departure for domestic flights. (So start booking now)
Booking 54 days before your flight anywhere in the continental US will give you the lowest price tickets. Booking 60-90 days before your flight for anywhere outside the US will give you the lowest price tickets. Don’t wait a day before because you’ll pay $249 more on average on a ticket and $149 more if you wait two weeks or less before your flight.
4. Check airlines that are not on search engines such as:
Southwest (https://www.southwest.com), JetBlue, and other airlines can’t be found on some search engines. So, search their sites on incognito mode as well to get the lowest fairs for flights.
5. Fly very early in the morning or late at night
These are the most unwanted times to fly, which means airlines want to fill these flights. It’s also a perfect flight for those going back home, or want to have a full day when they arrive to their destination.
6. One way ticket can be cheaper sometimes
Getting a one way ticket can sometime be cheaper than round trip, this is perfect for those going back for summer or winter break. Just book two flights one way there and another back, it may end up being cheaper.
7. Fly on weekdays
Flying on weekdays (Monday-Thursday morning) is usually cheaper, flying on a Saturday can also be cheaper. The reason these days are cheaper is most people work and aren’t going for a weekend getaway. It’s usually the most unwanted flying days.
